Wednesday Jul 23 Retro/Active with DJ Dark Fader Thursday Jul 24 The Makepeace Brothers   kick off show for their Vote with Your Dollar Tour with DJ Cappel and Colin Smith After completing their international tour “Music Magic Makepeace” with Atlantic Records recording artist Jason Mraz, this April, the Makepeace Brothers are excited to be reconnecting, over the summer and fall, with many of their new fans from across the US and into Canada. Since moving to California two years ago, Finian and Ciaran Makepeace have teamed with long-time friend and bassist Conor Gaffney to perform their upbeat acoustic music. Currently residing in LA, Finian and Ciaran were visited by brothers Aidan and Liam, this March, to record their new 11 song EP that their fans everywhere are calling “the CD that I wont take out of my car stereo”. The four Makepeace Brothers grew up in the vibrant music community of Ithaca, N.Y. Although they have been singing and playing music together for most of their lives, the brothers were first inspired to write their own songs during a year-long motorhome tour of the US. This trip gave them direct contact with a wide range of American Roots music and the musicians who play it – from bluegrass in North Carolina to Jazz in New Orleans. Their musical and cultural horizons were broadened further by exposure to African, Latin, and Celtic music at summer festivals in New York State, as well as by their experiences as exchange students in Costa Rica, Brazil and England.
